Legal · Terms of service
The terms, in plain words.
These terms are the agreement between your business and us when you use elejar.my. We've kept them as short and readable as we can.
This agreement
These terms are between Paper Art Sdn. Bhd. (registration no. 201501022563 (1147892-V)) ("we", "us") and the business that opens an account ("you"). By opening an account, or by using elejar.my for a business you're allowed to act for, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
Your account
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password and authenticator app to yourself. Two-step sign-in is required for everyone.
- You're responsible for the people you invite and the roles you give them, and for what they do in your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone has got into your account.
Early access
While we're in early access, features may change, appear or be withdrawn, and we may offer plans free or at a discount for a period. We'll tell you before early-access pricing ends and what applies after it.
Plans, prices and payment
- Prices are in ringgit and before SST, as shown on our price list when you subscribe. SST is added where it applies.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly. A yearly plan costs ten months' price.
- Firm plans are charged each month for each client company the firm pays for. There is no minimum number of clients.
- The payroll add-on is charged per employee paid in the month, with a monthly minimum.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change, and it applies from your next billing period.
Your data
Your books and everything you put in them belong to your business. You allow us to store and process them only to run elejar.my for you, to keep it secure and as the law requires. You can download your reports, statements and ledgers at any time.
What you're responsible for
- The accuracy of what you enter, and checking reports before you rely on them.
- Your tax returns, e-invoices, payroll contributions and statutory filings. elejar.my helps you prepare and submit them, but we aren't your accountant or tax agent, and nothing in the product is tax or legal advice.
- Having the right to put other people's personal data in your books, such as employees' details, and telling them how it's used.
- Keeping your own copies of records you must keep by law.
Fair use
Don't use elejar.my to break the law, to deceive anyone, to send spam or harmful code, to get into accounts or systems you're not allowed into, or in a way that harms the service or other customers. We may suspend access to stop serious misuse, and we'll tell you why.
The service
We work to keep elejar.my available and your data safe, and we back up every company's books daily. Sometimes we need to stop the service briefly for maintenance; we'll try to do that outside business hours and warn you ahead. Unless we agree a service level in writing, we don't promise the service will never be interrupted.
If a payment fails
We'll let you know and try again. If a bill stays unpaid, we may switch your account to read-only: you can still sign in, see and download your books, but not add to them. We won't delete your books because a payment is late without first giving you notice and a chance to download them.
Closing your account
You can close your account at any time; it stays open until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't refund part periods unless the law requires it. Download your data first. We may close an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, with notice where we can give it. What happens to your data afterwards is set out in the privacy policy.
Liability
We're responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or being negligent. We're not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or business opportunities, or for losses caused by what you enter or decide based on it. Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under Malaysian law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app. If you don't agree, you can close your account before they take effect.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. If we can't settle a disagreement by talking it through, the courts of Malaysia will decide it.
